Meet Sarah Wisson
UK-Trained Osteopath – Based in Central Otago
Qualifications: BSc (Hons) Ost, DO Animal Osteopathy
Specialist Treatments: Children/Pregnancy, Sports, Animals
Sarah is a UK-trained osteopath with over 25 years of clinical experience, working with both people and animals. Her integrative approach combines hands-on osteopathic treatment with clinical Pilates, supporting each patient’s vitality, strength, health and overall well-being.
Her career reflects a deep commitment to helping bodies move better, recover faster, and adapt through every stage of life. Whether easing joint pain in a horse or helping a person rebuild strength after injury, Sarah brings a grounded, empathetic presence to every session. Her ability to tune into the unique needs of each patient—two-legged or four—has earned her long-standing trust within the Christchurch community, where she practiced for two decades before relocating to Bannockburn.
Sarah’s connection to New Zealand began with a year-long visit in 2001. Captivated by the outdoor lifestyle and sense of adventure, she eventually made it home. That same love of movement, nature, and resilience is reflected in her clinical practice and Pilates teaching.
A former competitive athlete, Sarah knows firsthand the importance of rehabilitation, resilience, and proactive care. She believes that as life changes, so should the way we care for our bodies. Her philosophy is centred on empowering people to build strength, restore function, and move with confidence—whatever their age or stage of life.
Pilates has been both a personal passion and professional extension of Sarah’s osteopathic work. Her deep anatomical knowledge and desire to involve patients in their own healing journey led her to complete the BASI Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training.
Sarah offers a unique blend of osteopathy and movement education. She is known for her integrity, empathy and excellence in care—and for clearly guiding her clients on their journey to improved movement and well-being.
Sarah can be found at Northlake Pilates Studio, Wanaka.
